6 of the Best Black Photographers on YouTube You Need to Watch

Let’s look at the best black photographers with dope YouTube channels.

Last week I wanted to do a round-up of the best black photographers on YouTube. The piece became something else. Because YouTube struggled to show me black photographers using the platform, I had to ask if the platform was holding black photographers back. In closing the piece, I promised you all I would be back to show you the best channels hosted by black photographers. I never go back on a promise, so let’s take a look!

1. Vuhlandes is One of The Best Black Photographers on YouTube

Vuhlandes provides a range of content. His YouTube channel looks at cameras, technique, and other parts of being in the photo industry. He has cool videos in which he experiments with different systems, including expensive point and shoots. His channel is excellent for all levels of photographer.

2. Talya Adams Deserves Her Spot as One of The Best Black Photographers on YouTube

I spent a good hour looking at Tayla Adams’ YouTube channel. I didn’t need to spend that long, but I was enjoying myself. She creates well-shot content that’s very informative. I especially like her focus on film photography. The best part of Adams’ content is her! She’s very funny and brings great energy. It’s easy to binge-watch her content!

3. Photo-Me-Ike

When it comes to image quality, I feel Photo-Me-Ike is the best black photographer on YouTube. His work really is best-in-class. More importantly, the way he shares how he creates his images is second to none. For any photographer wanting to improve their skills, this is the best channel to get the best education.

4. Vincent Perry Jr

If you’re a fan of photography projects, this is the channel for you. Perry Jr started filming his series The London Project six months ago. He documents London and its people, using a 35mm camera. Follow him as he shoots street photography, portraits, and some of the best spots in England’s capital.

5. YCImaging

YCImaging doesn’t only offer photography based content; he taps into video too. To be clear, he’s no hobbyist with a YouTube channel. YCImaging is an absolute pro that provides nearly unrivalled content. I’m not the only one who feels he’s one of the best black photographers on YouTube. He has the most subscribes in this list, currently sitting on 375,000.

6. shotbyShingie

shotbyShingie is not a pro photographer. But what he is, is a guy embarking on a journey, wanting to share it with the world. Newbie photographers and pros who want to feel nostalgic will relate to this channel. He’s another young YouTuber who focuses on film photography too. We dig that! All that’s not to say he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. His video showing how to edit night flash photos will certainly be educational for some.
