1. Constantine Manos
This photograph was taken in 1997 at Daytona Beach, Florida. We adore the deep colors and the well-timed position of the girl on a bike. It’s a clever photograph and one that works perfectly for print. On the image, Manos says, “In all my photographs, I look for such a ‘magic moment – one that only happens once and will never happen again.”

2. Matt Black
Because of the raw, old school feel of the image, it would make sense to think this was made during the initial boom of photography. In actual fact, it was made in 2013. We love that! Photography has become clean-cut, but this image holds on to the vibes of previous generations. It’s a unique shot and one that would look great on the wall.

3. Gueorgui Pinkhassov
Who doesn’t love a strong silhouette? Especially when the subject is framed inside a beautiful curve, filled with vibrant ambers and reds! On the photo, Pinkhassov explains, “I was trying to capture the instant, that unexpected decisive moment, and paint my canvas out of spots and lines, leaving the viewer to guess at the events.”

4. Guy Le Querrec
It’s the juxtaposition that makes this photograph stand out. Elephants in front of the Eiffel Tower? What’s going on there? “One day four elephants visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I don’t know if they climbed the 674 stairs or took the elevator,” quipped Le Querrec. A powerful photograph is one that makes you stop and think, ask questions, and draw your own conclusions—the photo by Le Querrec ticks all the boxes.

5. Raghu Rai
In this wonderful composition, Rai offers a photograph with range and depth. Action images often catch the eye, and this image gave us the thrill linked to a moment of excitement. It also encourages the viewer to educate themselves. What’s really going on here? The group is practicing Kalaripayattu, the oldest martial art in India!
6. Olivia Arthur
Arthur captures a moment of simplicity in this photograph. Not much is happening, but the key is the detail, and that makes this photograph extremely compelling. Shot in an indoor ski slope in Dubai, Arthur describes the photograph and the location as, “one of the more surreal experiences I’ve had…”
